Start with a source you can identify
Prefer the app publisher’s official distribution channel. Check that the app name, publisher and website match the software you intend to install. A familiar icon alone does not verify a file.
Review the requirements
Compare the listed Android requirement with your device settings and make sure enough storage is available. If the file size differs from the publisher’s listing, pause and check the source again.
Read the installation prompt
Open the downloaded file only when its origin is clear. Review the device’s installation prompt and permissions. Keep device security features enabled, and stop if a warning or unexpected request appears.
After installation
Open the app and review its privacy settings before creating an account. If anything differs from the publisher’s description, uninstall the app and contact the publisher through an official channel.
